IES, the UK-based developer of <Virtual Environment> building performance analysis tools has launched this year’s competition to find for the most innovative and exciting student projects using the <Virtual Environment> suite.
Departmental prizes are worth £250, and there is a national-level prize of £500 for the best project taken from all winners of the departmental prizes.
IES is at the forefront of the development of commercially viable building performance analysis software tools that enable true sustainable building design.
The <VE> integrated building performance analysis tools are used by architects and engineers, planners and facilities managers. The system uses one clear interface resulting in faster, efficient building design, and includes the Apache thermal simulation tool with a proven capability for energy use and natural ventilation studies, solar analysis, Part L compliance checking tools, daylighting analysis and simulation (for BREAM), electric lighting design and many more.
