Thermal comfort in Iran doesn't meet expectations

A team of researchers from the Welsh School of Architecture has found that half of the offices they investigated do not comply with comfort levels set by ASHRAE Standard 55 and ISO Standard 7730.

Their study comprised six office buildings in Tehran (Iran), and used a comfort questionnaire in conjunction with physical measurements. They found that there was a good agreement between perceived thermal sensation and calculated predicted mean vote (PMV) from the measurements for the majority of the offices (four out of six).
